The Kalkaska Blazers played host to the Gladiators from St. Francis on Thursday night, and fell 0-3 (12-25, 18-25, 21-25) in another hard fought match.

Set one belonged to the Glads after a 10 point run put them up 10-21 following a couple of tough calls and missed opportunities by the Lady Blazers. Set two likewise fell to St. Francis, in a game that could have gone either way. Up 19-17 in set three, it looked like the Blazers were going force a 4th set but the Glads strong offense got the job done as Kalkaska came up just a little short.

Junior Peyton McKenzie had four aces and Sophomore Violet Porter added three more.  Baylee West, Kenzie Kniss, Lauren DeVol, and Violet Porter all served 100% and the team served 92% on the whole. Junior Jordyn Disbrow led the teams in kills, and Baylee West and Violet Porter played big at the net on defense with multiple tips and blocks.

Kalkaska is off to Lake City on Saturday to participate in an 8-team tournament. First game will be played at 9:45 (our girls will line judge for the 9am games).
