The Blazer cross country teams sloshed their way through the Charlevoix Mud Run on Saturday, September 6. After much rain, there was standing water on parts of the course, resulting in mud, mud, and more mud. Kalkaska raced in the D1, 2, and 3 division. Hunter Eaton of Charlevoix won the boy's race in 16:32, and Ava Pawlick of Petoskey won the girl's race in 22:00. However, Tayla Schreiber of Pickford, in the D4 division, posted the fastest time of the day for the ladies, running 18:57.  The Harbor Springs girls won the D1-3 race along with the Charlevoix boys. It looks like for most runners, the unsure footing and dives into the water pit added about 30-120 seconds to their typical race times. Kalkaska's girls placed 4th of 6 scoring teams, D1-3. Aaliyah Hillier ran 22:08, and led our ladies, placing 2nd and posting the fastest 9-10 grade time of the day. The Mud Run recognizes the top 20 9th & 10th graders and the top 20 11th and 12th graders with awards. Izzy
