It was an exciting day for the Lady Blazers at the Lake Michigan Conference Tournament which was hosted on the home court in Kalkaska. 

After a rough start against St. Francis (9-25, 11-25), the switch flipped and the team massively increased intensity, communication, and effort to win the next two matches in the loser's bracket. East Jordan took the first game (21-25) although Kalkaska built momentum that they carried into game two (25-23). This forced game three which the Blazers took (15-11).

With only a short 15 minute break, the next competitor was M-72 rival, Grayling. Kalkaska dominated game one from the beginning, easily winning 25-12. Grayling came back in game two and the back-and-forth match found the Vikings on top 23-25. The fierce competition continued in the make-or-break game three. After the match was tied up 6-6, Grayling moved into a more substantial lead at 6-11. Kalkaska fought back and tied the game at 12. In thrilling fashion, the two teams tied and exchanged leads until Kalkaska finished on top, 19-17.

Finally, the Blazers faced the Elks to whom they fell (11-25, 19-25).

-- Violet Porter led the team in blocks with 6, followed by Baylee West (2) and Payton McKenzie(1).

-- Violet Porter crushed it with 17 kills followed by Baylee West (9) and Jordyn Disbrow (8).

-- Mackenzie Kniss led the team in assists and provided necessary leadership and enthusiasm on and off the court.

-- Alli DeVol continued her extraordinary efforts on defense with numerous digs and saves.

The next opportunity to cheer on your Lady Blazers is on Monday, November 4, against Cheboygan on their home turf. This district match begins at 6:00pm.
