Kalkaska JV Lady Blazer basketball fell to the Petoskey JV Northmen girls team Tuesday December 10, 2019, 43-26.

Lauren Judd led the team with 9 points, followed by Lorelei Simkins with 5. Emily Koski and Shayna Whiteford both contributed 4 points apiece to the game. Emma Woodin and Baylee Reust each adding 2 points.

Judd also lead the team in rebounds with 5 offensive and 1 defensive, Koski had 4 defensive rebounds. Woodin had 3 defensive rebounds.Julia Moore and Reust each had 2 offensive and 1 defense rebound.

Errors and missed shots were the main cause of the Lady Blazers falling to the Northmen. 57 shots were attempted with only 10 baskets dropping. The team is getting really good at stealing the ball, 18 steals during this game; but they still need to work on the turnovers, as there were 26 throughout the game.

It was a very aggressive game. Petoskey girls dished out 18 fouls, and Kalkaska wasn’t too far behind with 11. The Blazers were very thankful to have two teammates from the Varsity team play with them, as they were short a few girls due to injuries.
